5 jours · 4 nuits · Départ depuis Abidjan
Le Bénin, berceau du vaudou et des royaumes d'Abomey. Un voyage entre mémoire, culture et spiritualité africaine.
WHY NOW
Benin, the silent eldorado
Benin is not a destination. It is a revelation. While others rush toward the same safaris, the same beaches and the same sanitised capitals, those who have understood that deep Africa is the next great global cultural movement have already set their eyes on Cotonou.
Politically stable for more than three decades — few West African countries can claim the same — Benin has opened its doors to investors with a vision: to make this territory the cultural and economic hub of the Gulf of Guinea. The ALIBORI project, the free zones of Parakou, the renovation of the port of Cotonou: the eldorado is not a promise. It is under construction.
And while capital flows in, you can lose yourself — between the palaces of Abomey, the sacred pythons of Ouidah and the pirogues of Ganvié at sunrise. This is what it means to travel ahead of your time.
Benin is one of the richest cradles of African civilisation. In Ouidah, the Slave Route and the Temple of the Pythons bear witness to a powerful history. In Cotonou, the stilt city of Ganvié astonishes. Porto-Novo reveals its royal palaces. SY Travels takes you in 5 days to the heart of this exceptional heritage, in the finest conditions.

The UNESCO-listed kingdom of Abomey, whose bas-reliefs tell of wars, kings and the glory of an empire that never bent before the Europeans.
DAY BY DAY PROGRAMME
5 days at the heart of royal Benin
Cotonou — Arrival & Ganvié
Cotonou welcomes you with the human roar of its zemidjan and golden light over Lake Nokoué. Then, silence. The pirogue glides on the water, and Ganvié appears — an entire city resting on the waves, as if the earth refused to constrain them. Airport welcome by your private guide. Hotel transfer, welcome lunch. Afternoon: pirogue ride on Lake Nokoué to the stilt city of Ganvié. Panoramic dinner.
Ouidah — Slave Route & Temple of Pythons
Ouidah weighs on you. Not in an oppressive way — in a way that forces you into silence and listening. The Slave Route leads to the sea, to the Door of No Return, facing an Atlantic that has witnessed everything. Then the sacred pythons remind you that this land has always worshipped what others feared. Departure to Ouidah: Slave Route, Door of No Return, Temple of the Pythons, Sacred Forest of Kpasse and history museum.
Porto-Novo — Honmè Museum & Crafts
Porto-Novo is not a capital like the others. It is a city that has refused to forget. The Honmè Museum, a former royal palace turned living memory, receives you with the solemnity of great houses. Outside, craftsmen sculpt bronze and time with the same hand. Visit of the Honmè Museum, colonial quarter, voodoo craftsmen and bronze sculptures. Traditional arts market.
Route des Pêches — Relaxation & Coastal Culture
The Route des Pêches is one of the most beautiful places in the world that no one knows yet. To the right, the Atlantic. To the left, the lagoon. And you, between the two, in a prestige resort where the only agenda is to forget having one. Free day at the premium resort. Spa, pool, hammam. Optional activities: traditional fishing, drums, local ceremonies. Sunset dinner.
Cotonou — Dantokpa Market & Departure
Dantokpa is not a market. It is a city within a city — the largest open-air market in West Africa. You leave with memories that don't fit in a bag. Morning at Dantokpa market: crafts, spices, fabrics, sculptures. Last Beninese lunch. Airport transfer and flight back to Abidjan.
